Gold Star Recognition Program

The Water Conservation Advisory Council is proud to announce its Gold Star Recognition program for outstanding Water Conservation Plans!!

Water suppliers who submit their Water Conservation Plans to the appropriate entity (the Texas Water Development Board and/or Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) are invited to self-nominate their plans for Gold Star recognition from the Council.  Applications will be reviewed by a committee designated by the WCAC on a rolling basis and may take up to a year after plan submission to allow for finalization by the appropriate entities, as well as the evaluation of the Gold Star Committee. 

Criteria for recognition includes:

• Submitting your plan to and considered complete by the appropriate entity
• Conservation strategy discussion
• Detailed Conservation Program description
• Discussion of Conservation Best Management Practices
• Discussion and details of Water Loss Control Program
• Evaluation strategies
• Evidence of outreach about plan document
