Workgroups (2011 to Present)

As of January 2011, the Council has refocused its efforts and restructured the formation of the Workgroups. The new organization of the workgroups is as follows:

Public Awareness Workgroup Activities and discussions of this workgroup are focused on following the topics areas:
  • Public awareness efforts for increased water conservation
  • Recognition awards for water conservation success and achievements
  • The availability of resources & tools developed to guide and facilitate water conservation practices
    • Messaging and techniques that have shown success
    • Opportunities for improvement resulting in increased public participation and reduces water usage
Agricultural Workgroup Activities and discussions of this workgroup are focused on the following topics areas:
  • Evaluating and defining metrics for agricultural water uses,
  • Improving resource information such as developing agricultural Best Management Practices (BMPs)
  • Improving awareness and recognition for agricultural water conservation
  • Identifying case studies and trends in agricultural water conservation efforts
  • Studying/measuring the success and implementation of BMPs
  • Identifying barriers & solutions to conserving irrigation water
Municipal Workgroup Activities and discussions of this workgroup are focused on the following topics areas:
  • Evaluating and defining metrics for municipal water uses,
  • Improving resource information such as developing municipal Best Management Practices (BMPs),
  • Improving awareness and recognition for municipal water conservation,
  • Identifying case studies and trends in municipal water conservation efforts
Industrial Workgroup Activities and discussions of this workgroup are focused on following the topics areas:
  • Evaluating and defining metrics for industrial water uses,
  • Improving resource information such as developing industrial Best Management Practices (BMPs),
  • Improving awareness and recognition for industrial water conservation, and
  • Identifying case studies and trends in industrial water conservation efforts
Commercial and Institutional Workgroup Activities and discussions of this workgroup are focused on following the topics areas:
  • Evaluating and defining metrics for Commercial and Institutional water uses,
  • Improving resource information such as developing Commercial and Institutional Best Management Practices (BMPs),
  • Improving awareness and recognition for Commercial and Institutional water conservation, and
  • Identifying case studies and trends in Commercial and Institutional water conservation efforts
Wholesale and Regional Water Authorities Workgroup Activities and discussions of this workgroup are focused on following the topics areas:
  • Evaluating and defining metrics for wholesale water uses,
  • Improving resource information such as developing wholesale Best Management Practices (BMPs),
  • Improving awareness and recognition for wholesale water conservation, and
  • Identifying case studies and trends in wholesale water conservation efforts
